Professional Repair Services for Dryer Vent Damage
Disconnected, rusted, and improperly constructed dryer vents quickly accumulate moisture, mold, and lint. This increases drying times, wears out parts inside your dryer prematurely, and increases the potential for water damage and a dryer fire.
After completing our 12-point inspection, and with your approval, your assigned dryer vent technician can:
-
Reattach disconnected dryer vents
-
Replace crushed or rusted sections of your dryer exhaust system
-
Recommend dryer vent replacement services for systems built with inadequate materials
Products we may recommend for dryer vent repairs:
Vent Screen Removals
Many home builders, pest control companies, and even homeowners install screens at the dryer vent termination point to keep animals out. Unfortunately, these screens or vent guards actually cause the very problem they are meant to prevent: a blockage. This inevitably leads to much more serious and expensive issues than just taking a lot longer for you to get your laundry dry.
Screens at the dryer vent termination must be removed because:
-
They are strictly prohibited by the building code
-
They allow lint to accumulate quickly
-
They create blockages that can lead to water damage or a fire hazard
HomeSafe can safely remove non-compliant screens from your dryer vent termination point, whether on the roof or side of the home.
Termination Hood Replacements
Home builders and roofers are notorious for installing the wrong types of dryer vent termination hoods or “caps”. If we identify side-terminating or roof-terminating hoods that don’t meet building code standards or clothes dryer manufacturer requirements, are damaged, we can replace them properly for you.
Our replacement side-terminating hoods are sturdy (metal), great at keeping birds and critters out, and look nice. Meanwhile, our roof-terminating hoods include backdraft dampers and no screens. Our dryer vent termination hoods meet (or exceed) building code requirements, ensure proper ventilation, and keep your family safe for years to come.
Products We May Recommend for Termination Hood Replacements:
DryerJack®
A building code-compliant rooftop dryer vent termination hood that maximizes airflow efficiency, reduces lint buildup, and offers easy maintenance access, enhanced protection against pests, and durable construction
DryerWallVent®
Finally! A durable (metal & powder coated) and efficient side/wall-mount dryer vent termination hood that looks great on any home and is designed to really deter birds and rodents from intruding and nesting in your dryer vent./wall-mounted dryer vent termination hood looks good and is designed for maximum airflow efficiency, easy cleaning, and durability, with features like a gravity-assist damper and integrated magnets for added protection.
PremiumWallVent®️
A matching companion to the DryerWallVent, with the same durability and aesthetics, but more specifically designed for kitchen range hood vent terminations (when they terminate through an exterior wall).
Booster Fan Removal or Replacement
Building codes require a booster fan to help improve airflow throughout your dryer exhaust system if a dryer vent is too long. However, you may find that your dryer vent’s booster fan is no longer functional, incorrectly installed, or missing altogether.
As part of our dryer vent repair services, we clean, install, replace, and remove booster fans. We offer both an in-line fan and an offset, “no clog” fan. We recommend the best booster fan for your needs.
NOTE: Booster fans require a licensed electrician to bring power to the fans after installation.
Products We May Recommend for Booster Fan Replacements:
In-Line Booster Fan
A Dryer Exhaust Duct Power Ventilator is designed to help your dryer exhaust to the outside of your home when the dryer vent is too long or has too many bends, turns, or elbows. These “in-line” fans require periodic maintenance and cleaning, but when installed correctly and maintained well, they do a great job of assisting your dryer exhaust properly.
No-Clog Booster Fan
This type of Dryer Exhaust Duct Power Ventilator is off-set, doesn’t require periodic maintenance or cleaning, and does a “fan-tastic” job of helping your dryer dry your laundry as quickly and as safely as possible. While it’s not suitable for some applications or spaces, when it is, if a booster fan is necessary, this is what we recommend.
